New feature aims to reduce stigma through education

The Town of St. Marys is launching a new feature to inform residents about its progress on addressing social issues.

The Stonetown Supports Report is a bi-monthly community update designed to build awareness about the many social services available in St. Marys. Through education, the Town hopes to reduce stigma and shine a light on the ways we can help our neighbours.

Rotary All Wheels Park construction to begin this fall

Donations to fundraising campaign encouraged

Thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers and the support of those near and far, construction on the Rotary All Wheels Park is set to begin this fall.

Last year, former Royal Family nanny Jean Rowcliffe partnered with teens Quinn and Sully Bolton to launch a fundraising campaign to revamp and expand the skate park. The group has since secured $100,000 from the St. Marys Rotary Club, along with donations from supporters across the globe.

Doors Open returns to St. Marys on September 23

Please note the following changes to this year's Doors Open event: 

  • Riverside Bed and Breakfast and Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home are no longer participating
  • Peter Rice will be exhibiting at Riverwalk Commons 
  • Monika Herten will be exhibiting at the St. Marys Museum
  • Town Hall will be open but the elevator is out of service

Town of St. Marys making changes to Animal By-law

The Town of St. Marys is introducing a new Animal Control By-law to protect the well-being of its residents and their furry friends. The by-law was approved by Town Council on May 23, 2023, and will take effect on August 1, 2023.

Under the new by-law, residents will be allowed to keep up to three dogs and three cats in their home. They will not be allowed to keep livestock, farm animals, or any animals used for agricultural purposes.

When it comes to proposed changes to Milt Dunnell Field, nothing is set in stone.

That’s what the Town of St. Marys is telling residents following a lively public engagement campaign about plans to revitalize the popular park. The Town recently conducted a survey about the project that received over 1,300 responses, a new record for the municipality.
